#CycloneYaas: ‘Very severe cyclonic storm’ to cross north Odisha-West Bengal coast today

NEW DELHI: The Cyclone Yaas is likely to move to the north-northwest wards and reach the north Odisha coast close to Dhamra port by May 26, 2021, morning, as updated by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The cyclone warning division of IMD said that the Cyclone Yaas is likely to pass through the north Odisha-West Bengal coasts between Paradip and Sagar Island during the noon of Wednesday as a ‘severe cyclonic storm’.

Cyclone Yaas declared as a ‘very severe cyclonic storm’

As per the NDTV reports, Yaas Cyclone intensified into a ‘very severe cyclonic storm’ on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, evening, said M Mohapatra, Director General of IMD. The red-coded warning alert has been issued around the Odisha-West Bengal coasts by the IMD.

The ANI tweet reads, “Cyclone Yaas very likely to move north-northwest wards, intensify further & reach near north Odisha coast close to Dhamra port by the early morning of May 26: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).”

As per the cyclone warning division of IMD, “It is very likely to cross north Odisha-West Bengal coasts between Paradip and Sagar Island close to the north of Dhamra and south of Balarose, during noon of May 26 as a ‘very severe cyclonic storm’: India Meteorological Department.”
