Corona Virus Live Update: कोरोना वायरस का प्रकोप देशभर में तेजी से फैलने के बाद जहां इसे रोकने के लिए एक तरफ देश में 21 दिनों का लॉकडाउन किया गया है तो वहीं दूसरी तरफ राज्य सरकारें अपने स्तर पर कई प्रयास कर रही हैं। इस बीच, दिल्ली के तिहाड़ जेल की तर्ज पर पंजाब सरकार ने कोरोना के चलते गुरुवार को एक महत्वपूर्ण फैसला लेते हुए जेल से भीड़ को कम करने के लिए 6 हजार कैदियों को पैरोल पर छोड़ने का फैसला किया है।
पंजाब के जेल मंत्री सुखजिंदर सिंह रंधावा ने इस बात की घोषणा करते हुए कहा कि ऐसे कैदी जिन्हें सात साल से कम की सजा सुनाई गई है, उन छह हजार कैदियों को पैरोल पर छोड़ा जा रहा है।
इससे पहले, तिहाड़ जेल प्रशासन ने ऐसा ही ऐलान करते हुए कहा कोरोना वायरस के चलते अगले 3-4 दिनों में करीब 3 हज़ार कैदी छोड़े जाएंगे। जिसमें 1500 कैदी ऐसे हैं जिन्हें कोर्ट से अलग अलग अपराधों में सज़ा हो चुकी है। इन्हें पैरोल या फरलो पर छोड़ा जाएगा जबकि करीब 1500 कैदी ऐसे हैं जो विचाराधीन यानि अंडर ट्रायल हैं उन्हें अंतरिम जमानत देकर छोड़ा जाएगा।

Meanwhile, on the lines of Delhi’s Tihar Jail, the Punjab government, taking an important decision on Thursday due to Corona, has decided to release 6 thousand prisoners on parole to reduce congestion from the jail.
Punjab Prison Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa announced that six thousand inmates who have been sentenced to less than seven years are being released on parole.
Earlier, the Tihar Jail Administration made the same announcement, saying that due to the corona virus, about 3,000 prisoners would be released in the next 3-4 days. There are 1500 prisoners who have been convicted in different offenses from the court. They will be released on parole or furlough, while there are about 1500 prisoners who are under consideration i.e. under trial, they will be released by giving interim bail.
